What happens when a client books a service?

Understanding the booking process from a client perspective

Updated over 2 weeks ago

New client booking

  1. Client accesses the digital front door via your booking link

  2. Selects an appointment type and available time slot

  3. Enters their contact details (name, email, phone)

  4. If payment is enabled for that appointment type, they're prompted to pay at the time of booking

  5. Receives a booking confirmation with appointment details

  6. Gets an automated reminder 24 hours before the session

Returning client booking

If logged into the client portal, their details are pre-filled. If not logged in, they enter their details again β€” Tacklit matches them to their existing profile if the details are correct. The booking flow is otherwise the same.

Payment at booking

Whether payment is collected at the time of booking depends on the appointment type settings. Your Superuser can enable or disable payment collection per appointment type.

What your team sees

The new booking appears on the calendar immediately, and relevant staff receive notifications based on your practice's notification settings.

Clients can log in to the client portal to view upcoming bookings, reschedule, or access session resources.
