How to send an invoice

Tacklit allows you to send invoices directly to clients, their employers, or members of their care team (such as a referrer or guardian). Invoices are sent via email from the client's invoicing tab.

Before you send

To send an invoice to someone other than the client, you'll need to have their details saved as a key contact in the client's profile first. Key contacts can include employers, parents/guardians, referrers, or any other person who may receive invoices on behalf of the client. See Updating client Key Contacts and Referrer details for setup instructions.

How to send an invoice

  1. Open the client profile — search for the client and navigate to their profile

  2. Go to the Invoices tab — this displays all invoices for the client

  3. Find the invoice to send — use the filters to narrow by status (draft, sent, paid, overdue) if needed

  4. Click Send — select the send action on the relevant invoice

  5. Choose the recipient — select whether to send to the client directly or to a key contact (employer, referrer, guardian, etc.)

  6. Confirm and send — the invoice is emailed to the selected recipient with a summary of the services and amount owing

Resending invoices

If an invoice needs to be resent (e.g. the client didn't receive it or you need to send to an additional recipient), you can resend from the same invoicing tab. The full send history is recorded so you can see when and to whom each invoice was sent.

Who can send invoices

All practitioners can send invoices for their own clients. Administrators and Superusers can send invoices across all client profiles.

Tip: For practices using third-party funders or NDIS/DVA, ensure the funder is added as a key contact with the correct relationship type so invoices can be directed to the right party.
