Sharing psychometric results with clients and their care team is an important part of collaborative care. Tacklit lets you include assessment scores and trends in reports and letters, so you can send measurable outcome data to clients, GPs, referrers, or other members of the support network.
Why share psychometric results
Sharing assessment data serves several clinical purposes. Clients benefit from seeing their own progress in concrete terms, which can reinforce engagement with treatment. GPs and referrers often need outcome data to assess whether a treatment plan is working or whether a re-referral is needed. For funded care (such as Medicare or EAP), demonstrating measurable outcomes may be required as part of reporting obligations.
Including results in a report or letter
1. Open the client profile and navigate to Letters & Reports.
2. Create a new report or open an existing draft. Select a template that includes a section for clinical outcomes or assessment data.
3. Within the report editor, you can reference the client's psychometric data. Navigate to the Assessments tab in the client profile to review the latest scores and the trend over time (using the Chart toggle).
4. Insert the relevant scores into your report. You can include the current score, the baseline score from intake, and a summary of the trend. For example: "At intake, the client scored 18 on the PHQ-9 (moderately severe depression). After 8 sessions, the most recent score is 7 (mild), representing a clinically significant improvement."
5. Once your report is complete, use the Send function to deliver it to the client, their GP, or any key contact listed on the client profile.
Who you can send results to
The client directly. Reports sent to the client appear in their client portal. This is useful for treatment summaries or progress updates that the client can review in their own time.
Key contacts. Each client profile can include key contacts such as GPs, referrers, carers, or case managers. When sending a report, you can select any listed key contact as a recipient. The report will be sent to their email address on file.
External recipients. If you need to send results to someone not listed as a key contact, you can add them to the client's contacts first, or download the report as a PDF and send it manually.
Using report templates for consistent sharing
If you regularly share psychometric results (for example, as part of a GP update after every 6 sessions), consider creating a report template that includes a dedicated section for outcome measures. This saves time and ensures consistent formatting across your practice. Superusers can create and manage report templates from the Control Panel.
Tips
When sharing results with clients, consider including a brief explanation of what the scores mean in plain language. Not all clients are familiar with clinical scales, and a sentence like "this score indicates your anxiety symptoms have reduced from severe to mild" provides more value than the number alone.
For a visual overview of score trends, check the Scores Over Time chart on the Assessments tab before writing your report. This gives you the trajectory at a glance and can help you frame your clinical summary.
