Overview
Alerts and Important Notes allow you to flag critical information on a client's profile so that every team member — clinicians, admins, and superusers — sees it immediately when accessing the client record. This is essential for clinical safety, ensuring risk factors and key notes are visible before any interaction.
Creating an Alert or Important message
Open the client's profile and select Create Profile Note.
In the flag dropdown, select the type of message: Risk or Important.
Add a title and message to the chosen flag.
Save the note.
Risk alerts are intended for safety-critical information — for example, suicidal ideation flags, allergy warnings, or court-ordered restrictions. Important notes suit operational information like billing preferences, scheduling constraints, or communication preferences.
Where alerts appear
Client list — An icon appears below the client's name. Hovering over the icon reveals the alert message.
Client profile — The alert displays prominently at the top of the client's details so it cannot be missed.
Clearing an alert
Hover over the alert message in the client profile and click the x icon.
Confirm that you want to unpin the message.
Once confirmed, the alert will no longer display on the profile.
Note: Clearing an alert removes it from display but the original profile note remains in the Activity tab for audit purposes. This is important for clinical governance — alert history is preserved even after unpinning.
