Instead of scheduling a recurring invite, this method provides a single link that can be reused anytime. This works well if you would like to add the meeting link into Tacklit Telehealth Settings for each practitioner, so that the link is automatically applied to each appointment that they are running. We recommend updating the settings of the static link to ensure the user is the only person who can view and add entry to the waiting room.
Here are the steps to generate a static meeting link.
1. Open Microsoft Teams and go to Calendar (or Meetings, depending on your version).
2. Click Meet Now at the top right of the calendar view.
3. In the new meeting window, click Start meeting to start the meeting. This will generate a unique meeting link.
4. Click Copy Meeting Link. It will look similar to:
5. Add the to the Tacklit Telehealth Settings
Go to Control Panel>Telehealth Settings>Add the static link to the Practitioner or Group appointment.
This link will be applied to all appointment types with the practitioner as the lead, or the Group Appointment type.
Restrict Access to Prevent Unwanted Participants
A common issue with a reusable meeting link is that anyone with access can join at any time. This includes unintended participants, which can disrupt sensitive discussions and create security risks.
To ensure only the right people can enter, adjust your meeting settings before sharing the link. Here’s how you can secure your meeting link.
Enable the Lobby Feature: This allows the host to admit participants manually, preventing unauthorised users from joining. Those in the meeting already cannot see any new people join the lobby, only the Teams Host can view the full lobby participants.
Adjust Participant Permissions: Limit who can share screens, mute others, or remove attendees to avoid disruptions.
Disable Anonymous Join: Require participants to sign in with their Microsoft account before accessing the meeting.
